Artist Li Shuangqiang, born in Liaoning, China, in 1992, now resides in Beijing. As a new-generation artist, Li's uniqueness lies in his profound contemplation of contemporary society and his skilful incorporation of popular culture into his creations
Li's renowned series, "The Turin Horse," draws inspiration from a poignant episode in Friedrich Nietzsche's life. In 1889, Nietzsche witnessed a coachman mercilessly whipping a horse on the streets of Turin. Overcome with compassion, he intervened, embracing the horse and weeping.
In this series, Li employs the horse as a metaphorical figure, utilising glitch art techniques with seemingly illogical colour juxtapositions to evoke a sense of disorder, creating a unique visual impact
